Book Tag: Books I’ll Never Read

I saw this tag on Book Orbit’s Blog and it sounded like a great one for me! A lot of these choices may shock and even upset people but please keep it civil. xD

1. A really hyped book you have no interest in reading:

Right now everyone is putting Kingdom of Ash on their Fall reading lists and I’m over here like…maybe I’ll read Heir of Fire someday…maybe next year. I’m just so over Maas’ writing style I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever make it back to Throne of Glass.

2. A series you don’t plan to finish (or start):

The Red Rising series is just really not for me. I DNF’d Golden Son around the halfway point and I don’t regret it for a second. I felt the plotting lacked forethought and I could see that reflected in the character development. Lots of aspects of the writing just threw me out of the story enough times that I gave up.

3. A classic you’re not interested in:

Probably something like Little Women. I did read Gone with the Wind a couple years ago, and that was a really exhausting read for me so anything in that vein is probably not going to end up on my reading list.

4. A genre you’ve never, or rarely read:

I don’t know if I’ve ever read an autobiography in full. Non-fiction, in general, is something I read sparingly these days. I would like to get into some more non-fiction science books, but I find them hard to choose because I feel like any author is going to have a bias I don’t about. Basically, I just want to read some peer-reviewed science journals.

5. A book on your shelves you’ll probably never actually read:

In theory, I like the idea of reading Wuthering Heights but I know I will probably never actually read it. I think it’s ok to keep a book just because it’s pretty though…right?

If you have read this far, consider yourself tagged! Let me know what you think about my choices for books I will never read in the comments!
