Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
This week we’re talking about upcoming books that may or may not make it onto our future TBRs. I have a few 2019 books that I’m planning to read, but I’m not sure whether or not I’ll actually like them.
Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zetner: Though I have heard some great things about this one, I still haven’t read anything by Jeff Zetner so I’m on the fence about it.
Crown of Feathers by Nicki Pau Preto: This one I am excited for because huge phoenixes!!! However, I’m worried that it might be loaded with some YA tropes and I’m trying to avoid those.
The Everlasting Rose by Dhonielle Clayton: Though I am looking forward to continuing this series, I didn’t totally love the first book so I’m wary. I may wait to see some reviews before I make a choice.
Children of the River Ghost by Alexandra Aceves: This book sounds like it might be amazing. It’s a book about a girl who falls in love with La Llorona. If you are unfamiliar with that ghost story, I highly recommend you look it up, but leave the lights on. I’m worried that the story might lack some of the gravitas I would want from an adaptation of the La Lllorona story, but I sincerely hope it’s done well!
Into the Crooked Place by Alexandra Christo: Another one that sounds like it could be great, or it could be way too similar to other popular YA novels.
Gravemaidens by Kelly Coon: YA novels with royalty always make me nervous, but I do love some of them!
Fireborne by Rosaria Munda: I think I can let the goodreads blurb speak for me on this one. “Inspired by Plato’s Republic and told from a dual point of view, the story is pitched as Aegon Targaryen and Hermione Granger with dragons, set in the aftermath of a bloody revolution.”
The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones: I’m wary of this one because I haven’t read anything by this author yet, and it was compared to Sky in the Deep which I did not care for.
Bone Grace by Kathryn Purdie: Paranormal romance is the best for me, but it could just be one big eye roll. I hope it’s great!
Ink in the Blood by Kim Smejkal: I am still looking for the great YA tattoo-centric novel. I hope this is it, but so often I find they aren’t great for me.
Have you read any of these titles yet? Are you excited about any of them? Let me know your thoughts. Happy Tuesday!
I’m quite curious about Crown of Feathers, I hope it ends up being great.

Same! I’m getting it in a sub box now so I’ll definitely be reading it at some point.
