Friday Favorites: Confessions of Love

Happy Friday bibliophiles! Kibby started this tag at Something of the Book. It’s a fun way to celebrate the books you love on one of the best days of the week!

This week is all about confessions. I think the intent was to talk about book characters professing their love to each other, but today I want to confess a few bookish things I love.

1. Special Editions

I am a sucker for a special edition! If a bookshop is offering a signed book with sprayed pages or a unique cover I am sold. I have spent over $100 on a special edition book, and I have no regrets! I see some people shame others for spending money on things like Illumicrate and that’s so silly to me. Worry about your own money, don’t tell others how to spend theirs, or where they should find enjoyment.

2. Morally Ambiguous Boys

No shame here. I love seeing broody boys with an axe to grind. Kaz Brekker, Malachiasz & Serefin from Wicked Saints, The Darkling, Victor Vale, Jaxon Hall, they all have my heart…but I want to punch them in the face too.

3. Enamel Pins!

If you follow my instagram you may know that I recently started up #pintasticfriday with my friend Trissina. So you can consider this my shameless plug for that photo challenge. I absolutely love enamel pins. I think they are a beautiful form of art that allows for so much creativity. They make for highly dynamic decorating and accessorizing as well. I love so many shops, so if you ever need pin shop recommendations, I am your girl.

4. Advanced Reader Copies

This probably comes as no surprise, but I love getting ARCs from publishers. I think some people might be cagey about saying something like that, but it’s absolutely true! It’s one of the reasons I decided to start blogging. I wanted to help promote new books, and you can’t do that prior to release without ARCs, so of course, I love them. My collection of physical ARCs is something I’m very proud of. They are so special because you can’t buy them (or you shouldn’t) and they show that a publisher wanted my opinion. That means something to me for sure.

Those are my bookish confessions of love! Let me know one of yours in the comments!
