As hard as it is to believe, June is almost over. This means that San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner, and will bring with it a huge pile of new books (probably). My TBR is already pretty ridiculous and I’m feeling pretty stressed about my summer reading list. It’s going to take a lot of late nights to work through a few all of these, but I hope I can do it! let’s take a look at what’s waiting on my NetGalley shelf.

Midnight Beauties: Sequel to Grim Lovelies. I am so excited for this one, I also snagged a physical arc at Yallwest. I just love the pseudo-animal characters. There’s something about this premise that just gets me. I love the setting as well. More Paris for me.
Only Ashes Remain: Another sequel! This is the follow up to Not Even Bones, one of my 5 star reviews from last year. Think Dexter, but with a YA paranormal fantasy twist. So excited to see how this series continues.
The Dragon Republic: You guessed it, another sequel. This follow up to The Poppy War is a current read. I’m hoping to finish it very soon. I’m loving the sheer amount of plot development that happens in each of these books. R. F. Kuang is well on her way to becoming a new auto-buy author for me.
Lock Every Door: A rare thriller read for me. I have enjoyed Riley Sager’s previous 2 books, and I was lucky to win a physical arc from Goodreads. Need a good stormy night to come along so I can read this one!
House of Salt and Sorrows: This one is a new author for me. I’ve heard some great things about it, and I can’t wait to dig into it. It’s supposed to be dark and gory and I am here for it.
A Memory Called Empire: This one comes with a double dose of guilt. I picked up an arc at SDCC almost a full year ago now. My BF and I were meant to read it together, and I failed. He had great things to say about it though, so I am still looking forward to getting to it soon!
Seven Blades in Black: I honestly never thought I would be approved for this title. Sam Sykes is familiar to me, but I have yet to read one of his titles. He is often lauded as one of the top fantasy writers of the day, so I definitely want to give him at least one chance!

The Dead Girls Club: My most recent acquisition! Another thrillerish book that really caught my eye. Thankfully I’m not too worried about reading this one until Fall comes around. Perfect for a Spookathon read!
The Grace Year: This book came on my radar the week of Bookcon. It looked like it was being promoted pretty heavily and I’m excited to see what it’s about.
Gravemaidens: Whenever I remember I have access to this book, I just want to drop everything and read it immediately. Sadly I’m quite bad at doing that. I don’t like reading multiple books at once either (though I am right now), so It’s hard for me to bounce between titles. Again, this one will happen later in the summer or fall.
Soul of the Sword: I received this title back in March…the book is out now and I still haven’t read it. I am honestly so disappointed in myself for this one. Shadow of the Fox was so amazing, and I just cannot believe I haven’t read this yet. Ah well, it happens! I will definitely get to it soon regardless.
Are you looking forward to any of these titles? Let me know which one I should read next! Happy reading bibliophiles!
I’m really excited for soul of the sword! I think my copy is about to arrive!
I’m also excited for the dragon republic, but still haven’t read the poppy war..
